Job Overview
As a senior site engineer, you will lead engineering functions on-site, mentor junior engineers, and play a pivotal role in project delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in site engineering, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all site engineering activities, ensuring works are set out accurately and in line with project requirements.
* Supervise and mentor junior engineers and trainees, providing guidance and technical support.
* Check and review drawings, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
* Co-ordinate with the Site Manager/Project Manager to ensure the project is delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
* Manage quality assurance processes, ensuring work is completed in accordance with specifications and industry best practice.
* Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and the design team to resolve technical queries.
* Take ownership of technical problem solving and provide engineering solutions to overcome on-site challenges.
* Maintain comprehensive site records including as-built drawings, quality control checklists, and progress reports.
* Oversee compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, leading by example on best practice.
Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* 5 - 7+ years experience in a Site Engineer role, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity preferred.
* Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial build projects, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor.
* Advanced setting out skills and proficiency with Total Station, GPS, and Auto CAD.
* Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* In-depth knowledge of construction regulations, safety procedures, and quality standards.
