This strategic role combines financial leadership with operational oversight, requiring significant shop floor presence to drive business performance and operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesMaintain regular shop floor presence to understand processes, identify improvement opportunities, and build strong relationships with operations teamsLead cross-functional initiatives to drive operational efficiency and cost optimizationParticipate in strategic planning and execution of plant transformation projectsTranslate shop floor observations into actionable financial insights and improvement initiativesDevelop and monitor KPIs that bridge operational and financial performanceLead cost reduction programs through direct engagement with production teamsEnsure robust financial controls while maintaining operational flexibilityPartner with operations leaders to optimize production processes and resource utilizationDrive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projectsLead value stream mapping exercises to identify waste and improvement opportunitiesActively participate in production meetings and problem-solving sessionsDevelop strategic partnerships with key vendors and suppliers to optimize costs and ensure operational excellenceEngage with customers through site visits and audits, demonstrating our operational capabilities and financial stabilityFoster positive relationships with local authorities and community leaders to support plant operations and future growthRepresent the plant in industry associations, local business and community forums and regulatory bodiesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferredCPA certification preferred7+ years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing, with demonstrated operational involvementStrong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesProven experience in both financial management and operations leadershipExperience leading cross-functional teams and managing change initiativesExcellent understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operationsStrong presence and ability to effectively communicate with all organizational levelsProven track record in stakeholder management and relationship buildingExperience in union environments and contract negotiationsStrong diplomatic skills and ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapesKey CompetenciesHands-on leadership style with willingness to spend significant time on the shop floorStrong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilitiesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to balance strategic thinking with tactical executionStrong change management and team development skillsComfort with ambiguity and ability to operate in a fast-paced environmentExcellence in relationship building and stakeholder managementCultural awareness and ability to operate in diverse environmentsStrong negotiation and conflict resolution skillsPublic speaking and external representation capabilitiesLocation: Burnfoot or Letterkenny, Ireland or Campsie, Northern IrelandPosition Type: Full-timeReports to: Regional Finance Operations DirectorThis role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who wants to expand their impact beyond traditional financial management and play a key role in driving overall plant performance.
