This super organisation currently has an opening for an Environmental Project Manager who will support & report to the Planning Programme Manager.
You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of planning applications & associated environmental & technical assessments for a wide range of Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) & non-SID renewable energy projects.
You will help ensure that all planning-related activities are carried out efficiently, are compliant with regulatory requirements, & aligned with project timelines & strategic goals.
Your main duties & responsibilities will include:
* Assist Senior Project Managers / Project Directors with the design, planning, & environmental assessment requirements for renewable energy projects up to the point of consenting decision. Coordinate & manage documents such as EIA & AA Screening, Planning & Environmental Reports, EIAs, & Natura Impact Statements.
* Manage the coordination of baseline environmental & constraints assessments & facilitate interaction between project team members.
* Support the planning team in staying updated with legislation, policies, & development plans, assisting with reviews & key developments.
* Assist the Communications & Engagement team with developing project plans for community consultations with local communities & stakeholders, including statutory & non-statutory consultees.
* Support the planning & community engagement teams with preparation & attendance at community events.
* Assist with preparing specifications for third-party services & support procurement processes.
* Ensure all works comply with H&S & Environmental policies, & relevant EU & national policies.
* Adhere to Health, Safety & Welfare standards for employees & the public.
* Contribute to the delivery of team objectives.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge & attributes:
* Honours Degree (Lvl 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
* Postgraduate (Lvl 9 FETAC) qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning Law) is desirable but not essential.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience assisting with planning applications & Environmental Assessments.
* Proven knowledge & experience in project development & managing environmental assessments.
* Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
* Understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process & Irish planning legislation related to EIA.
* Experience in renewable energy & infrastructure projects, especially SID projects.
* Background in managing diverse projects with varying priorities, risks, & timelines.
* Experience coordinating EIAR & AA preparations, with technical expertise in related disciplines (e.g., ecology, noise, air quality).
