Support Worker
The Support Worker will be responsible for providing care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Attend to daily needs, including physical care, daily living, and social skills.
* Foster respectful relationships with residents and promote independence.
* Assist with household management, budgeting, cooking, shopping, and maintaining cleanliness.
* Administer and record prescribed medication as required.
* Maintain accurate records and reports as needed.
* Engage residents in leisure activities and facilitate community integration.
* Provide a welcoming environment for visitors.
* Properly use aids/appliances, report incidents, and ensure knowledge of emergency procedures.
* Report faulty equipment and implement fire and safety precautions.
Requirements:
* HETAC Accredited Diploma/Degree in Social Care, Nursing (RNID), or eligibility for CORU registration.
* Experience managing challenging behavior and working with adults/children with intellectual disabilities.
* Ability to work independently and supervise staff/residents.
* Full Driver's License required.
Location: Residential centers in Cork, with rostered 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and weekdays.
