Job Summary
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the financial management of an organization, overseeing and directing all aspects of financial operations. This position lead finace department and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, implementing effective internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organisation's overall objectives.
Role Resposibilities
Financial Reporting:
* Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
* Present financial information to senior management, offering insights and recommendations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
* Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals
* Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and scenario analysis.
* Monitor budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
* Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
* Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits
Cash Management:
* Manage and optimise the organization's cash flow to meet operational needs.
* Monitor and analyse banking activities, ensuring proper liquidity and risk management.
* Implement strategies to enhance working capital efficiency.
Financial Analysis:
* Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making.
* Identify trends, opportunities, and risks in financial performance.
* Provide insights into cost management and profitability.
Team Leadership and Development:
* Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective cross-functional communication.
Technology and Process Improvement:
* Drive efficiency by implementing automation and streamlining financial workflows.
* Stay abreast of advancements in financial technology and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.
Role Qualifications:
* Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA,CPA or CIMA certification preferred.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
