Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the greater Dublin area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to utilize their skills and expertise to deliver high-quality construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day commercial and contract activities, including negotiations with subcontractors.
* Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers.
* Negotiate and obtain best value with placement of subcontract orders.
* Prepare and participate in the management of project budgets, cost plans, and feasibility studies as appropriate.
* Validate and approve sub-contractors' interim applications and final submissions.
* Lead pre-appointment subcontractor meetings to ensure scope is clearly defined & appoint subcontractor in line with subcontract terms.
* Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with Commercial Managers/Project Managers/Contracts Managers and presentation to the Senior Leadership Team.
* Negotiate, draft, and submit Final Accounts, including claims in respect of loss and expense, delay, and disruption, and any time extensions.
* Maintain a productive relationship with all Design team professionals and Client representatives throughout the project.
* Ensure full and proper implementation of the Commercial procedures.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry in Ireland.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various forms of contract used in the construction industry (RIAI, Public Works Form of Contract etc.).
* Ability to critically evaluate and identify gaps in documentation and commercial opportunities.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of construction processes, techniques, and systems.
* Demonstrated commercial awareness – market, competition, value for money.
* Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
* Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
* Process oriented with focus on results.
