Job Title: Cleaner

Hours: 10 per week
Salary: €14.15 an hour
Job Purpose:
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the medical practice, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors, in line with infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clean and disinfect all clinical and non-clinical areas including consultation rooms, waiting areas, toilets, staff rooms, and offices.
* Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as outlined by the practice.
* Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively.
* Dispose of clinical and domestic waste in accordance with infection control policies.
* Replenish supplies such as soap, hand towels, toilet paper, and sanitiser.
* Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or incidents to the Practice Manager.
* Ensure confidentiality and respect for patient privacy at all times.
* Adhere to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
* Participate in training related to infection control, health & safety, and safeguarding.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Previous cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment.
* Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards.
* Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
* Good time management and attention to detail.
* Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
* Experience using cleaning equipment.
* Basic understanding of confidentiality and data protection in a healthcare setting.
