Together, we work as 'One Murphy' by directly delivering the people, plant and expertise needed to make projects a success.Main Purpose of Role:Delivery of Mechanical & Electrical commercial services for individual projectsEstablish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department Role Duties:GeneralTo provide assistance to the Managing QS, and support on all commercial issues within the Project(s) Team WorkingEncourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the teamEnsure the site team adheres to group procedures and governanceDevelopment, motivation & performance management of junior staffDelegation of appropriate work to junior staff, whilst maintaining accountability Commercial Service DeliveryPreparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be requiredPreparation of Valuations/Application for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contractPreparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentationPreparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedulesAdministration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accountsUndertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registersIdentifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and changeChallenge & manage in cost control / cost mitigationEnsure the correct site records are maintained.Implement a WBS structure to satisfy the Client & Contract requirementsAssist with preparation of the Cost to Complete and Risk analysis Register for the projects(s)Preparation of change events, extension of time claims, final accounts etcMeasurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as requiredEnsure appropriate Client Management is initiated and maintainedHelping to maximise the cash position, including WIP control, cash flow production & improvement plansMaintain / assist in the production of the margin improvement plan on the projectUndertake any other work as required of you by your line manager Corporate DevelopmentAttend client engagement events for equivalent level customer feedbackInvolvement in Business Improvement Initiatives Qualifications & SkillsDegree qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction EconomicsOn route to being Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalentFull driving licenseAll roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cardsCommercially astute.
