We are looking for a Production Coordinator
We are currently looking for a Production Coordinator to join our team in West Cork Distillers, Skibbereen.
Shift Based Work
Rotation schedule:
* Week 1: 6am‑3pm (Mon‑Thu), 8am‑12pm (Fri)
* Week 2: 1pm‑10pm (Mon‑Thu), 12pm‑4pm (Fri)
Rate €22.25 per hour, plus 20% shift allowance, total €27.80 per hour (€55,000 per year).
What You'll Do
* Maintain accurate records of inspection results, shift reports, product quantities and defect logs in line with internal and client requirements.
* Record and track batch codes, inspection outcomes and case movements to ensure traceability and compliance with quality protocols.
* Prepare and check product labels, inspection sheets and any relevant paperwork for use during the inspection process.
* Ensure smooth flow of product from unloading through inspection to repacking or onward processing.
* Monitor inspection accuracy and ensure all quality standards are upheld. Identify patterns in product defects and escalate issues to Quality or Production Manager.
* Coordinate the setup and breakdown of conveyor lines and inspection stations; minimise downtime and troubleshoot minor operational issues as they arise.
* Support the training of new operatives and ensure ongoing adherence to procedures and standards.
* Responsible for scheduling deliveries and shipments with hauliers. This requires proficient communication skills and troubleshooting in working with hauliers to obtain solutions to maintain production schedules. Attend Microsoft Teams meetings multiple times a week with external suppliers.
* Act as liaison between different departments of production, purchasing, management, supply chain and external representatives.
* Prepare and maintain production reports. This requires good computer skills, specifically Excel, to update and maintain schedules, track progress and analyse data. This role will be split between desk and on the floor work.
* Create and maintain production schedules, assign work to teams and optimise resource allocation.
What You'll Have
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships, including daily phone calls with forward carriers and hauliers to coordinate schedules, resolve issues and make adjustments where needed.
* Scheduling expertise, including the ability to manage and own the schedule up to four weeks in advance, aligning capacity with hauliers and forward carriers to meet delivery timelines.
* Proficiency in computer-based work, particularly in managing and updating schedules through spreadsheets and other relevant tools.
* Operational awareness, with a strong understanding of line capacity and the foresight to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.
