We are looking for an ambitious, driven, flexible graduate or post-graduate with a background in engineering, science, mathematics or other relevant discipline to join our team and contribute to this critical role.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Spectrum Intelligence and Investigations, the Spectrum Intelligence Radio engineer will play a key role in driving ComReg's work in spectrum monitoring and management. This will include:
* Co-ordinate ongoing NIR measurement programme including site selection for planned future surveys.
* Development and implementation of enhanced reporting and statistical analysis on the NIR measurements dataset including datamining and retrospective analysis of previous 20 years of measurement data.
* GIS mapping of NIR measurement data to facilitate analysis and understanding of dataset chronologically, geographically etc
* Accompany and assist Third party contracting staff in conducting of NIR measurements in the field
* Reviewing and approving submitted reports
* Publishing NIR reports on ComReg's website quarterly
* Tracking accumulated measurement data on database
* Updating documentation where desirable or necessary
* Updating measurement methodology where desirable or necessary
* Answering queries submitted by Industry /Public/Govt Bodies on all aspects of NIR.
* Becoming ComReg's subject matter expert on NIR. All relevant training will be provided. Successful candidates may also be required to:
* Accompany field engineering staff in order to develop a full understanding of the work undertaken by SII
* Undertake climbing, 4×4 vehicle training and Safepass course.
Qualifications & Experience
* A diploma or degree in engineering, science, mathematics or other relevant discipline
• Experience of statistical analysis and reporting
* Demonstrable analytical skills and attention to detail
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent team working skills
* A full clean Class B drivers' licence
* GIS, experience in gathering, mapping, analysing and presenting GIS data is desirable
* Experience in undertaking radio measurements in the field, using Spectrum analysers, receivers, DF antennas is another desirable skillset.
