Overview
The Associate Director (Civils) will be responsible for leading complex civil engineering projects, managing multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to business development activities. This is a senior role requiring technical expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent client management skills.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage civil engineering projects across sectors, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
* Provide technical oversight and guidance on design, construction, and infrastructure projects.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
* Drive business development by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting tender processes.
* Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across projects.
* Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives for the civil engineering division.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional qualification in Civil Engineering.
* Minimum 10–12 years of experience in civil engineering consultancy, with significant experience in project management and client-facing roles.
* Proven track record in delivering major infrastructure, transportation, or utilities projects.
* Strong technical knowledge in civil design, construction, and project lifecycle management.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring staff.
* Business development experience, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to drive business growth and manage complex projects.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
* Commercial awareness and ability to manage project budgets and resources efficiently.
