We are excited to announce that the Stryker Instruments Neurosurgical (NS) R&D team is growing! Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking to join a team of innovators and executors who partner with the world’s top neuro and spine surgeons to develop procedural solutions?
Our global team seeks a passionate design engineer eager to push the boundaries of possibility by collaborating worldwide with engineers and customers to deliver new products that Make Healthcare Better. In this role, you will develop and own the mechanical design of products used in spinal and cranial procedures.
What you will do:
* Design and launch innovative new medical devices.
* Be part of a cross-functional global team focused on developing new technologies within our high-speed drill portfolio, aimed at wow-ing customers and helping treat debilitating diseases.
* Collaborate closely with neuro and spine surgeons to uncover unmet user needs and improve surgical outcomes.
* Design and implement robust solutions that enable our customers to access and view critical anatomical structures in the spine and skull.
* Lead technical aspects of multifunctional project teams.
* Liaise with surgeons to define user needs, ensuring products meet and exceed expectations.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, modeling professionalism in all interactions.
What you need:
* A minimum of a Degree (level 8) in Engineering or a related design field.
* At least 4 years of experience in mechanical, tool design, or mechatronics engineering.
* Experience in mechanism design and NPD project delivery.
* Strong focus on delivery and understanding of materials and mechanical processes.
* Enthusiasm for new technologies and their applications.
* Willingness to travel internationally and within the EU.
