Job Description
The Innovation Developer works in a development team under the guidance of a Lead Developer, driving cutting‑edge incubation projects through the software development life cycle. Projects may involve AI solutions, internal services for HPE teams, or services for HPE Hybrid Cloud customers, exploring emerging software technologies for potential value to HPE and its customers.
About The Role
As a member of the development team, you will contribute to innovation projects from inception to delivery, collaborating closely with internal customers and stakeholders to maximize HPE's value to its customers.
Primary Responsibilities
* Apply subject‑matter knowledge on software development methods and processes.
* Maintain high code quality standards and implement comprehensive testing strategies.
* Evaluate implementation alternatives, including open‑source, 3rd‑party, and internal options.
* Select optimal solution architecture and implement, along with other team members.
* Work with Team Lead and other members to proactively identify project risks and implement mitigations.
* Share knowledge with team members on technical aspects of careers.
* Work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment, switching context quickly.
And Experience
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, AI/ML, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience developing cloud‑native services.
Required Knowledge And Skills
* Understanding of distributed systems and designing for scale and performance.
* Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Transformers.
* Experience with microservice architecture and REST APIs.
* Knowledge of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
* Experience with Generative AI technologies such as LLMs and concepts of model training and inference.
* Knowledge of Open Source LLMs (LLaMA, Mistral, Qwen).
* Understanding of AI safety, alignment, and responsible AI practices.
* Experience implementing RAG systems and vector databases.
* Experience in cloud‑based global software development environments.
* Demonstrable proficiency in Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban.
* Proficiency in software validation, quality assurance, and CI/CD.
Preferred Knowledge And Experience
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
