Junior Quantity Surveyor – Civil & Utilities (Cork)A well-established civil and utilities contractor with a head office based in Bandon is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a range of projects across Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career QS to gain hands‑on experience within civil and utility infrastructure works.The successful candidate will support the commercial and contractual delivery of projects including ducting, drainage, telecoms, footpaths, and water infrastructure works.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of cost estimates, valuations, and project cost reportingSupport the commercial management of civil and utility projects from commencement to completionMonitor project costs, variations, and subcontractor accountsLiaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to support smooth project deliveryAssist with procurement, project documentation, and commercial administrationContribute to ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and company standardsRequirementsDegree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalentCollege placement or some construction experience is advantageous, preferably within civil works or utilitiesStrong organisational, communication, and analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with QS software is a plusPositive attitude and willingness to travel to project sites across CorkAvailable to start immediately or on short noticeSalary & Benefits€40k–€45k depending on experienceHands‑on exposure to a wide range of civil and utility projectsOpportunity to develop under guidance from senior commercial and project management teamsSupportive team environment with clear career progressionIf you are a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor looking to gain practical experience and grow with a well-established civil and utilities contractor, please send your CV or contact Amy Maguire for a confidential discussion.Email: a.maguire@gpcireland.comGPC will not send your CV to clients without prior discussion and consent.
