That growth is built on a strong client base, a reputation for technical quality, and a culture that takes the work seriously and itself a little less so.OpportunityWe are looking for an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager to join the firm at a time of sustained client growth. The role offers a clear next step for someone who has built a strong technical foundation in practice and is ready to take on greater client responsibility and a leadership role within the team.You will work across a varied portfolio of audit and accounts assignments, supervise more junior team members on engagements, and build direct relationships with clients. You will report to the Audit and Accounts Manager and have regular partner access throughout.This is a development role within a firm that values progression and supports the people in it to grow.Key responsibilitiesPlan, execute and finalise audit and accounts assignments across a varied portfolio of clients, including family businesses, owner‑managed companies and not‑for‑profit organisations.Build direct working relationships with clients, becoming a reliable point of contact for day‑to‑day matters.Supervise trainee and qualified staff on engagements, reviewing work and providing on‑the‑job coaching.Manage your own time and the time of your team across assignments to meet budgets and deadlines.Support the Manager and partners in delivering technical advice to clients, drawing on the wider team when needed.Take an active role in your own technical development and in the development of the trainees around you.Contribute to internal initiatives that improve how the team works.Skills and experienceQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).Two to four years of post‑qualification or relevant practice experience in audit and accounts.Good knowledge of financial reporting standards and current auditing standards.Experience supervising junior staff on engagements.Confidence in dealing with clients directly and an interest in building those relationships.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Organised, with the ability to prioritise across multiple live assignments.A genuine appetite for development, both your own and that of the people around you.What we offerA varied portfolio of clients, with real responsibility from day one.Direct partner access and a flat, collegial structure.Genuine career progression in a firm that is growing.Flexible hours by agreement and a working environment built around trust.Investment in your continuing professional development.A long‑established Kilkenny office in the Brewhouse, Abbey Quarter, with a team that has been here a long time and intends to stay.Who you areYou will be a capable practice professional looking for the next step.
