Financial Accountant required for Galway based manufacturing company.
Responsibilities: Prepare timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing insights to management and operational teams.
Collaborate with various departments across the business to track project costs, capital expenditures, and inventory valuation.
Monitor inventory accounting, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and write-offs.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation schedules.
Ensure tax compliance (VAT, corporate tax, transfer pricing) in collaboration with external advisors.
Manage external audits, providing detailed reconciliations and audit trails.
Contribute to process improvement and system enhancements within the finance function.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification: ACA/ACCA.
Minimum 12 years post qualification experience in financial accounting, preferably within Med Tech, medical devices, healthcare manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals.
Strong working knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
Proven experience in inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis.
Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, or MDR compliance).
Exposure to R&D project accounting or clinical trial cost management.
Understanding of transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
