From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.Overview Of The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Chartered Highways Lead to be part of our Transport and Mobility Solutions Division in Ireland. Located in Dublin you will be required to combine managerial responsibilities with technical responsibilities to promote a collaborative approach and inspire teams to win work and deliver projects to quality, budgets and timescales.You will be offered, and be expected to take on, a key role and have responsibility for growing the Highways team's profile by utilising existing client relationships and business development skills to develop and grow a portfolio of work for the division.Although the role is located in Dublin, you will be expected to collaborate with our wider business in Ireland and the UK.The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to balance leadership in the design and delivery of complex projects ensuring technical excellence and innovation, with the requirement to engage with Local Authorities and transport authorities to expand our client base, grow our project portfolio and help shape the future of our division in Ireland.Key Responsibilities And Duties IncludeLeading multi-disciplinary teams in the pursuit, bidding, design and delivery of highway projectsDemonstrating leadership and promoting a Safety First cultureManaging the planning, design and implementation of highways projectsLeading a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery to client requirements, programme and budgetControlling project resources and monitoring against budgetOverseeing project delivery from concept through to construction, ensuring quality, safety, and complianceBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, local authorities, and industry partnersMonitoring market trends and contribute to strategic planning and growth initiativesCandidate specificationEssentialDegree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or extensive equivalent experienceChartered (or Incorporated) EngineerExperience in detailed design for construction deliveryDemonstrable record of successfully managing project teams and of planning and controlling project programmes, budgets and resourcesExperience and/or familiarity of working with Irish clientsDemonstrate a strong track record in business development with the ability to identify and exploit growth opportunitiesExperience within the role of Expert Witness at an Oral Hearing (ABP) or similarDesirableUnderstanding of design standards including: Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) Standards, Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets (DMURS), National Cycle Manual, Traffic Management Guidelines and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) StandardsKnowledge of highway design principlesExperience of engineering design calculationsKnowledge of the use of BIM to coordinate design inputsRepresent Mott MacDonald at industry events, conferences and networking opportunitiesBe prepared to work away from home when requiredEquality, diversity, and inclusionWe put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
