Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Care of Dementia (ID)
Horizons is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist (Care of Dementia ID). The post holder will deliver care aligned with the five core concepts outlined in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Posts, 4th edition, NCNM 2008. The role initially focuses on service users with Dementia (ID).
The role is based on the core concepts and competencies for the CNS, including:
1. Clinical Focus (Direct and Indirect Care)
2. Service user/Advocacy
3. Education and Training
4. Audit and Research
5. Consultancy and Leadership in Clinical Practice
Minimum Requirements
1. Statutory Registration, Qualifications, and Experience
* Registered nurse/midwife on the active NMBI register or eligible for registration.
* Registered in the relevant NMBI division or eligible to be registered.
* Minimum 1 year’s post-registration full-time experience or equivalent in Intellectual Disability and Dementia Care.
* Completion of a post-registration program at QQI Level 9 or higher, relevant to the specialist area, or evidence of equivalent credits.
* Continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to Dementia (ID).
2. Annual Registration
* Maintain live annual registration with NMBI.
* Confirm registration annually via the PSAC.
3. Health and Character
* Fully competent and in good health to perform duties.
* Of good character.
4. Additional Requirements
* Full clean driver’s license and access to own vehicle.
