The Senior Manufacturing Scientist - Technical Servicesat Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for activities required to co-ordinate and support Technical Services investigations and routine product maintenance Operations activities for the AU and CSCA Business Units. Additionally the role will support CSCA design transfer activities for new Haematology products. This role is a 12 month FTC. This position is part of the AU Technical Operations Department located in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mills, Co. Clare and will be an onsite position. You will be a part of the Technical Operations Team and report to the Manager, Manufacturing Science, Operations /Technical Services, with a direct line to the Senior Manager of AU Technical Operations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Ensure the co-ordination and completion of investigation, projects tasks and product maintenance support activities to the required specifications and in line with regulatory and company quality practices and requirements. Provide technical direction to QC Associates for issues relative to CSCA failure investigations of product quality issues that arise within the product release operation. Provide technical support to other BC Ireland Inc departments in their internal problem resolution / product maintenance support where relevant. Support of other AU technical Operations teams as required including Technical Operations and Value Assignment. Involvement in continuous improvement projects for the identification and elimination of wasteful activity. Ensure that technical reports supporting out of specification results or non-conformance product reports proceed in a timely manner and ensure the confirmed issues are effectively handled and adhere to the relevant QA/CAPA compliance processes. Liaise with both internal and external customers to ensure that the appropriate project requirements are delivered. The essential requirements of the job include: Level 8 Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent with 5+ years relevant experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years relevant experience OR Doctoral degree Familiarity with failure investigation techniques, handling chemicals, bio-hazardous materials and laboratory equipment and analyzers Bringing innovation to the work approach and managing different complex situations. Ability to work on own initiative does not require supervision. Ability to manage quality output when faced with greater workload and/or complexity and/or tight deadlines.
