As the Overall Quality Manager for the site, you will play a vital role in ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food that meets all customer specifications and legal requirements.
You will be responsible for overseeing the effective operation of agreed procedures through regular monitoring, sampling, analysis, and auditing. This includes conducting and supervising quality assurance and control checks, as well as audits of the factory, raw materials, and finished products.
Main duties:
* Ensure the factory is always audit-ready.
* Build a thorough understanding of HACCP, TACCP, and related disciplines within the site and communicate these effectively; lead the HACCP/TACCP team.
* Take the lead during customer and BRC certification audits when required.
* Interpret results and arrange further sampling as needed.
* Immediately inform the Technical Manager and Production Manager of any out-of specification results.
* Carry out regular GMP audits in the factory and agree on corrective actions where necessary.
* Conduct internal systems audits in line with the audit schedule and complete all related reports accurately and on time.
* Monitor trends in analysis, results, and compliance with legal and internal targets, and communicate recommendations across the business.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and food safety management systems, including Health & Safety, Hygiene, Disciplinary, and Housekeeping.
* Ensure SOPs are adhered to and kept up to date.
* Deliver training as required and promote a strong food safety culture throughout the company.
* Manage and maintain accurate documentation and records.
* Ensure high hygiene standards are maintained on the production floor.
* Verify the accuracy and completion of production check-sheets.
* Identify and troubleshoot daily factory issues, recommending appropriate solutions.
* Communicate quality concerns clearly and appropriately at all levels.
* Support the technical team in the manufacturing area as needed.
* Perform regular traceability exercises.
* Oversee label generation and approval processes.
* Assist the Technical Manager and wider factory team with any ad hoc duties as required.
* Act as deputy for the Technical Manager when necessary.
* Support stock management tasks when required.
