Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist - Blood Transfusion
Purpose of the Role
The role involves providing a safe, efficient, and high-quality Blood Transfusion service in collaboration with the Chief Medical Scientist, ensuring compliance with international standard ISO15189 and meeting service user needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must, by the closing date, possess one of the following:
1. Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin / Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street;
2. Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course;
3. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994;
4. Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street, Cork Institute of Technology, or Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1997;
5. Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science recognized as approved by the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC);
6. Recognized qualification at least equivalent to the above qualifications.
Additionally, candidates must:
* Be registered with CORU or be eligible for registration, or
* Be currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
