Senior Engagement Specialist - Community Benefit Fund

Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity with the Public Engagement team for a focussed, resilient, and motivated Senior Engagement Specialist to support the delivery of our Community Benefit Funds across onshore and offshore projects. As part of this role, you will:
* Scope and cost the provision of Community Benefit Funds as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Coordinate the delivery of Community Benefit Funds across multiple grid development projects
* Manage Community Benefit Fund budgets
* Evaluate and report on performance of Community Benefit Funds
* Procure and assure external support
* Proactively identify communication issues and develop plans to address them
* Assist in the implementation of the company’s enhanced approach to consultation
* Assist in the development and delivery of our engagement strategy
* Manage and attend engagement events and initiatives
* Communicate effectively to customers and business stakeholders, including senior management, via meetings, presentations and reports
* Assist in the development of a community engagement plan and maintenance of a stakeholder management strategy for assigned projects
* Provide additional assistance to team members, management and consultants as appropriate
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Relevant third level qualification (degree in Community Development, Communications, PR, Marketing, or Business)
* Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, including experience working with the community and voluntary sector, and engaging members of the public
* Experience in external communications, including via social media platforms
* Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and on one’s own initiative
* Understanding of best practice in working collaboratively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders
* Strong project management skills
* Direct experience of managing community benefit funds, corporate social responsibility programmes, or similar is highly advantageous
* Understanding of the energy sector and the role of EirGrid
* Understanding of managing community impacts associated with infrastructure projects
