Senior DevOps Engineer (CI/CD & Automation Focus)Salary: Up to £100,000 Location: UK or Ireland preferred (remote) Type: PermanentWe're working with a global technology company in the payments and financial services space, currently scaling its engineering platform following a series of acquisitions.As part of this, the business is standardising how software is built, packaged, and deployed across a hybrid environment spanning on-prem infrastructure and cloud platforms.They are now hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release engineering practices across the organisation.The OpportunityThis is a hands-on, senior engineering role focused on improving how software moves from development through to production.The environment is not cloud-native by design - it includes legacy systems, on-prem infrastructure, and multiple product stacks that need to be brought into a consistent, automated delivery model.You will play a key role in:Designing and building CI/CD pipelines end-to-endStandardising build and release processes across teamsImplementing Infrastructure as Code and configuration managementSupporting the integration of on-prem and cloud environmentsImproving deployment reliability, repeatability, and speedWorking closely with engineering teams to improve how software is deliveredThis role is suited to someone who enjoys solving delivery and automation challenges, rather than building platform tooling or internal developer platforms.Technical EnvironmentThe platform operates across a hybrid infrastructure, including:On-premise and data centre environmentsCloud platforms (AWS/Azure)Mixed legacy and modern application stacksKey technologies and practices include:Docker and Docker ComposeAnsible (core to configuration management)Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)Build and artifact management (e.g. Maven, Gradle, NuGet)This is not a Kubernetes-focused environment.
