EIB Trainee - Group Risk & Compliance Directorate – Compliance Strategy Division – Luxembourg
Officially a 5‑month fixed‑term traineeship starting 1st March/April 2026 at the European Investment Bank’s headquarters in Luxembourg. The role is part of the Office of the Group Chief Compliance Officer and focuses on compliance‑related testing, process automation, and IT projects within the department.
Only applications from nationals of EU Member States or candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine) will be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the traineeship will not be considered. Applicants are limited to a maximum of three submissions; the first three applications will be retained.
Responsibilities
Define and maintain detailed business requirements for compliance risks.
Coordinate with relevant services to ensure accurate, timely compliance input and consistent data management across all divisions.
Support automation and digitalisation initiatives for compliance processes, including testing, model validation, reporting, and issue management to increase efficiency.
Participate in testing of IT solutions to ensure business requirements are met and compliance standards upheld.
Support integration and optimisation of compliance tools and methodologies.
Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills
Final year of studies or university degree in Economics, Business administration, Law, Finance, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Risk Management or related discipline.
Understanding of IT project lifecycles, especially in relation to compliance and risk management.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail in data management and reporting.
Interest in digitalisation and innovation within institutional or corporate environments.
Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools; advanced MS Excel experience is an advantage.
Excellent written and spoken English and/or French; knowledge of other EU language is an advantage.
