We are seeking an energetic and skilled Breakfast Chef to join our fast-paced bar and restaurant team. The ideal candidate thrives in a busy environment, is highly organized, and can deliver consistent, high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent kitchen standards. This role is essential to setting the tone for the day's service.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
* Prepare and cook a full breakfast menu to order, including traditional, modern, and special dietary dishes.
* Ensure all dishes leave the kitchen to the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.
* Manage prep work efficiently to ensure a smooth and timely breakfast service.
* Monitor stock levels for breakfast items and communicate shortfalls or ordering needs.
Kitchen Operations
* Set up and break down the breakfast station daily.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen area in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.
* Rotate stock and minimize food waste through proper portioning and storage.
Teamwork & Service Flow
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure speedy service and excellent communication during peak times.
* Support the wider kitchen team when needed, including basic prep for lunch service.
Standards & Compliance
* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health & safety procedures.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP).
* Adhere to the restaurant's recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Breakfast Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
* Strong cooking, prep, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
* Excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
* Knowledge of food safety guidelines and best practices.
* Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
