Our Institute is committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion principles across all activities. This commitment involves seeking an EDI Officer to lead on initiatives, oversee the Athena Swan Action Plan and coordinate future applications at department and institutional levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitoring and reporting on action plans for gender equality and race equality are essential tasks.
* We support other protected grounds in line with our Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty.
* The EDI Officer will take ownership of work undertaken as part of our Bronze Renewal Institutional Athena Swan certification.
* We continuously review and develop EDI related policies with cross-Institute teams.
* The role involves providing advice and guidance on equality and diversity matters, ensuring a positive EDI culture at the Institute.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
* Organising Institute-wide events such as Diversity Week, International Women's Day, and International Men's Day.
* The EDI Officer represents the Institute at national events and collaborates with external bodies.
* Preparing the annual EDI Report and presentation, and the College of Sanctuary Application are key responsibilities.
