Job Title: Mechanical Estimator
Job Description:
The mechanical estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for all project phases, including tender documents, contracts, drawings, bill of quantities (BoQ), specifications, and budgets.
They perform material take-offs prior to purchasing requisitions for projects, reporting any irregularities or discrepancies to project management.
Post-contract duties include measurements, final accounts, evaluation reports, payment applications, and agreeing with clients. Collaboration with project teams ensures proper recording and notification of measurements, variations, and contractual matters.
Subcontractor works are managed, examined, controlled, and evaluated, ensuring contractual obligations are met. Quotations from suppliers and subcontractors are evaluated to ensure alignment with tender and project specifications.
For this role, a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or mechanical engineering is required, along with 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or mechanical engineering.
Strong technical and practical knowledge of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to multi-discipline civil/construction projects are essential.
