Company and Role DescriptionBluedrop Medical are a Galway based medical device company, delivering remote patient monitoring to patients at risk of developing diabetic foot ulcers. We are entering a high-growth phase, with rapid scaling in revenue and growth of our team in both Ireland and the US.With this rapid growth we are looking for an experienced, energetic and highly resourceful Financial Controller to join our team to support us on this journey. The successful candidate will report directly to the senior leadership team and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company.This is a hands-on and varied role, with a requirement to both carry out day-to-day financial activities and establish processes to allow us to scale. This is an opportunity to shape how a high-growth international company scales - ensuring we have the systems, processes, and culture in place for sustainable success.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage the financial operations of the group (2 entities), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of reportingAct as the primary point of contact for outsourced finance contractors, providing direction, review, and quality controlEstablish and continuously improve best-practice financial processes, controls, and policiesOwn the month-end and year-end close processes, including review of management accountsEnsure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across all entitiesLead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processesPartner with senior leadership to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-makingPrepare board-level reporting packs and KPI dashboardsSupport audits and liaise with external auditors, advisors, and regulatorsDrive systems and process improvements as the business scalesKey RequirementsQualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a scaling or high-growth environmentExperience managing or working with outsourced finance functions or shared service providersStrong understanding of financial controls, governance, and best practice process designExperience in life sciences, biotech, medtech, or a regulated environment is advantageousAbility to operate both strategically and hands-on in a lean team structureHigh technical literacy and a track record of identifying and deploying software or technology based solutions to drive efficiency and scalabilityStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsKey AttributesProactive and self-sufficient, comfortable operating with limited internal finance infrastructureProcess-driven with a continuous improvement mindsetCommercially aware with the ability to translate financial data into business insightsAdaptable and comfortable in a fast-evolving, scaling environmentProven experience building or optimising operations systems in a fast-growing business.Why Join Us?This role offers the chance to combine accounting operations with strategic influence in a high-growth international company who are making an impact on the lives of patients with diabetes.You’ll work directly with the leadership team, shaping how the company scales, while helping advance the systems and processes that will support rapid US expansion and long-term global success.We offer a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package as well as participation in our employee share option scheme.
