To work with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs to put together an individual social care plan and to evaluate regularly.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with planning and coordinating activities and events, discussion groups & clubs, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off property trips, special events, in-house movies, instructions courses; such as, arts & crafts, seminars, workshops, presentations; Active Aging Week, health & fitness activities, customized activities for Alzheimer/Dementia and Parkinson affected residents, marketing events, holiday parties.To consult with each resident in order to identify their social and recreational requirements according to their likes/dislikes, abilities and personal preferences.To assist residents who have dementia with activity sessions, reminiscence support, mobility, encouragement and general support within a residential homeTo communicate effectively with the staff nurse regarding the wellbeing of residents to take part in social activity.To ensure all staff are aware of planned activities.To effectively manage the allocated social activity budget.To establish links with and encourage involvement of the local community.SKILLS:Positive and compassionate attitudeKindness, patience and compassion.Good English, numeracy and writing skills.Your ability to understand and follow procedures.Strong organisational and time management skills.BENEFITS OF ACTIVITY COORDINATOR:Competitive rates of pay with yearly incrementsComprehensive induction training providedEmployee incentives & supportRefer a friend bonusREQUIREMENTS OF ACTIVITY COORDINATOR:One-year experience in geriatrics, social or recreational programs in a licensed health care setting within the last three years is preferred.Must have experience and willingness to work with people with memory issues.Ability to communicate effectively in English and good written and computer skills.Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.INDHJob Type: Part-timeExperience:Activity coordinator: 1 year (preferred)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Work Location: In person
