Purpose Reporting to the Lending Manager and to the CEO, the Mortgage/Loans Officer will have responsibility for assessing members' enquiries & applications for mortgages (and loans when called upon) in adherence with the credit union's lending policies and procedures, and in accordance with responsible lending practices. The successful candidate will also contribute to the smooth operation of the lending function by assisting with related administrative and organisational tasks, and keeping abreast of developments in the wider credit union. Responsibilities Evaluate mortgage applications and assist members in progressing such applications and in the preparation for drawing down funds. Contribute to personal loan underwriting and decision-making, particularly in relation to the more complex loan applications when called upon. Communicate with and assist members regarding their mortgage/loan applications in person, by telephone and by various online/electronic means. Monitor and maintain mortgage reports and pipeline analysis daily. Qualifications/Experience A minimum of 12-18 months' experience working in a financial services environment as a Mortgage Advisor ? A pleasant manner with strong interpersonal skills ? A good level of education, possibly to third level ? An APA Loans qualification is a minimum requirement for this role ? An excellent knowledge of Word and Excel ? Excellent administrative, organisational, and support skills and the ability to prioritise tasks ? Strong attention to detail to help ensure that the credit union maintains a high standard of member service and regulatory compliance ? An ability to work as part of a team ?
