Cairnhill Nursing Home is part of Trinity Care Group a well-respected, multi-award-winning Nursing Home Group, part of the international DomusVi Group.
We provide private residential, convalescent, and rehabilitative care in our purpose-built Nursing Homes.
We have centres in Dublin, Meath, Louth, Kildare, Kilkenny, and Cavan.

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing to join our dynamic team and lead the Care Team in providing the best possible care.
ROLE SUMMARY The appointed person will be assigned to assist the Director of Nursing in the overall operations and day to day running of the home.
The appointed person will assist the Director of Nursing in the efficient management of resources, the assignment of work and monitoring the quality of work performance of staff.
The appointed person will assume the role of person in charge in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
The post is full time and permanent following a probationary period of six months.
QUALIFICATIONS Must be registered with An Bord Altranais.
Must have minimum of five years post registration experience Must have knowledge of all relevant legislation and HIQA Standards for Residential Care Settings.
Prior experience as an ADON is necessary THE POST HOLDER WILL Assume responsibility in assisting the Director of Nursing in the clinical care of patients and operation of the home.
Be responsible for promoting an organizational culture that incorporates the philosophy and principles associated with person centered care.
The focus to assist residents, where possible, to maintain their independence and avoid unnecessary hospitalization, liaising with clients and their families as required, in order to help promote wellbeing and healthy lifestyle.
Demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of persons in our Care and being cognizant of current best practice.
Assist the Director of Nursing to manage resources efficiently and effectively to ensure the continuous quality improvement of the service.
Be actively involved in the supervision of the daily management of the home, undertaking nursing rounds.
Facilitate team building and motivation.
Assist the Director of Nursing in ensuring that policies, procedures and standards are developed, revised and implemented.
Have an in depth knowledge in all legislative requirement of meeting HIQA National Standards and assisting with implementation and monitoring within the home.
Key Duties Clinical Governance Assume the role of Person in Charge in the absence of the Director of Nursing Assist in the development and evaluation of quality initiatives and clinical audits to ensure that the best quality of services and practices are provided within available resources.
Assist Director of Nursing in monitoring and investigating all complaints, untoward clinical incidents and near misses.
Encourage and facilitate staff innovation in nursing practice.
Provide clinical support and mentorship to qualified nurses, assessing competency levels in line with current best practice And as per An Bord Altranais Professional Guidelines for Nurses working with Older People.
Human Resources Assist in implementing annual staff development and performance review.
Assist in managing staff rosters, staff sickness and absenteeism in accordance with company policies.
Will be involved in the clinical supervision of CNMs, Nurses and Care Assistants.
Assist with recruitment, interviewing and selection of Staff Education Ensure that staff receive induction/orientation, and are provided with the opportunities to attend in-service training and other appropriate educational programmes and seminars.
Facilitate learning from Nursing practice through reflection and critical incident analysis.
Responsible for assisting the DON on the development and maintenance of a staff training programme including the delivery of training as appropriate.
Self Development Be cognisant of the latest developments in health care and nursing practice and maintain a professional portfolio Attend and participate in conferences, seminars and other research/ educational activities regionally.
