Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a challenging role as Health and Safety Manager at a leading retail distribution centre. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of health and safety strategies across two sites.
As Health and Safety Manager, you will lead a small team of specialists and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. This position is offered on a 15-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading legislation.
* Lead and manage a team of Health and Safety Specialists operating across two regions.
* Provide strategic direction for the implementation of health and safety standards across all operational areas.
* Chair and lead health and safety working groups and projects to promote best practices and consistency across the business.
* Oversee the company's response to enforcement actions or regulatory interventions within the designated regions.
* Conduct thorough investigations into serious accidents and incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Health and Safety Authority.
* Coordinate ongoing reviews of national documentation to ensure alignment with Irish regulatory requirements.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
* NEBOSH Diploma qualified or holds a similar relevant degree level qualification in H&S or Environmental Health.
* Experience in managing and coaching a team of health and safety professionals.
* Ideally experience within H&S in Retail, Logistics or Food Safety
* Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
* You have a full and valid driving licence.
