The graduate process engineering role is key to the Kinsale site as we continue in our mission to develop and manufacture Lilly’s pipeline products. Lilly is currently undergoing significant expansion within the Kinsale campus, which includes small molecule (batch and continuous), large molecule and peptide businesses. The successful candidate will be involved in the provision of support for ongoing manufacturing in these facilities, introducing new products to these facilities, designing / optimising unit operations and control systems to support manufacturing.
Typical responsibilities would include:
* Provide day-to-day process engineering or automation support to either small molecule, large molecule or peptides manufacturing operations.
* Support and participate in commissioning activities of small molecule (batch or continuous), large molecule or peptides unit operations and equipment.
* Initiate and implement facility, equipment or control system upgrades to improve plant productivity and throughput.
* Facilitate the introduction of new products with associated new unit operations and equipment and ensure the processing at the site stays current with emerging processing and equipment innovations.
* Maintain ownership and oversight of equipment and equipment qualification within area of ownership.
* Understand and apply chemical engineering first principles in the resolution of processing and equipment issues (incl use of modelling tools, etc).
Basic Requirements:
Entry graduate level position (0-2yrs), degree qualified – Biochemical/Chemical Engineering with relevant knowledge of upstream and downstream biopharmaceutical unit operations, small molecule API unit operations, manufacturing processes, reactor/bioreactor design and control, heat/mass transfer fundamentals, SIP/CIP, filtration, chromatography techniques, process control etc.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part process team consisting of a diverse group of management, production/science and engineering professionals.
* Creativity to identify improvement opportunities and the tenacity/initiative to see them implemented.
* Flexibility to meet business needs.
