Job Description
The Warehouse Manager oversees daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing and dispatch of pharmaceutical goods.
The role leads a team, manages recruitment, training, performance and ensures compliance with GMP/GDP standards.
It also works on process improvements, inventory management and collaborates with logistics and quality teams to resolve supply chain issues and maintain adherence to safety policies.
In a fast-paced, GDP/GMP regulated warehouse environment, the Warehouse Manager will lead a team of five, manage recruitment, training, performance and continuous improvement, and collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate distribution of critical medical products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing and dispatch of pharmaceutical goods.
Identify opportunities to streamline warehouse processes and improve operational efficiency.
Manage cycle counts, stock reconciliation and inventory optimisation activities.
Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and regulatory standards.
Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment.
Provide direction and guidance to the Warehouse Team in managing daily work priorities.
Ensure team members are trained, competent and adhere to all company safety policies.
Manage the full employee lifecycle for the team, including recruitment, training & development, absence management and performance management.
Recognise and celebrate success on a team and individual level.
Collaborate with other departments such as logistics and procurement to schedule deliveries and ensure seamless operations.
Resolve supply chain issues or delays in conjunction with logistics & customer services.
Work with Quality & Regulatory to ensure adherence to GMP/GDP standards and internal SOPs across all supply chain processes.
Liaise and interact with suppliers, customers and service providers as required.
Experience and Profile
Minimum of 35 years experience in a warehouse management role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or regulated industry.
Experience in people management with a willingness to support developing teams – essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build internal and external relationships at all levels.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proactive and motivated approach, with a view to implement continuous improvement and best practice processes.
Experience in Stock Management System Sage and Microsoft Office including Excel is preferable.
