Job Description: Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to support the design and delivery of enterprise-grade applications across a portfolio of strategic programmes on an initial 6-month contract.
Job Responsibilities Design scalable distributed systems spanning on-premise infrastructure and public cloud environments.
Develop high-level and detailed solution designs aligned to enterprise standards, security controls and governance requirements.
Translate business requirements into robust architectural blueprints that prioritise resilience, performance and cost efficiency.
Provide architectural oversight to Agile delivery teams, ensuring adherence to best practice and approved design principles.
Collaborate with infrastructure, development and third-party providers to ensure seamless implementation and integration.
Experience Required Strong background designing distributed systems across on-premise, hybrid and cloud deployment models.
Proven experience working within regulated industries, ideally financial services or similarly governed sectors.
Extensive knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and API-driven architectures.
Hands-on exposure to Java-based application environments (including enterprise application servers) and.
NET-based web applications hosted on Windows platforms.
Experience designing solutions utilising relational database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.
Strong understanding of enterprise operating systems including Windows and Linux.
Familiarity with batch processing frameworks and enterprise job scheduling tools.
Experience implementing automated CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
Exposure to automated quality assurance tools for API and user interface testing.
Ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate strategic objectives into technical solutions.
Desirable Skills Experience with cloud platform services, particularly Paa S and serverless architectures.
Knowledge of hybrid integration patterns across multiple hosting environments.
Understanding of secure solution design for systems processing sensitive or regulated data.
Educational Requirements Third level degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
