Role Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for providing expert HR advice, ensuring compliance with Irish employment law, and delivering the day-to-day HR function. This is a standalone role that suits someone who enjoys working independently, balancing operational HR with advisory support, and who is looking for a flexible, part-time position.
Key Responsibilities
HR Advisory & Compliance
* Provide accurate, practical advice to managers and employees on Irish employment law and HR best practice.
* Support managers in employee relations matters (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, etc.), ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy.
* Keep up to date with changes in employment legislation and update policies and practices accordingly.
HR Operations & Administration
* Manage employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, probation, contracts, exits).
* Maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and personnel files.
* Administer annual leave, benefits, and HRIS data.
* Provide recruitment support, from drafting job descriptions to assisting with interview processes.
Policy & Process
* Maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
* Support delivery of HR initiatives, such as wellbeing, engagement, and training.
* Prepare HR reports and metrics for management when required.
Employee Experience
* Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries.
* Promote a positive employee experience and support engagement initiatives.
* Assist with staff training, workshops, and events.
Skills & Experience Required
* Degree in HR, business, or related discipline (CIPD qualification desirable).
* Strong knowledge of Irish employment law.
* 4+ years' HR generalist experience, ideally within a standalone or SME environment.
* Comfortable providing HR advice as well as carrying out HR administration.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust.
* Highly organised and able to manage workload independently.
* Proficient in MS Office; HRIS experience an advantage.
