Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor / Lead Technician to join our team in Cork. This role is a key leadership role responsible for supervising and coordinating the maintenance team, ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all plant equipment and utilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to drive high standards of safety, quality and efficiency across all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead the maintenance team ensuring daily tasks are assigned, completed on time and to a high standard.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and utility systems.
Diagnose, repair and replace faulty or worn-out equipment components to minimize downtime.
Coordinate and schedule shutdown work with production personnel to reduce disruption to operations.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams including Production, Quality, and Qesh to ensure maintenance tasks support overall site goals.
Manage and supervise external contractors ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety protocols.
Adhere strictly to site safety protocols and complete risk assessments where required.
Lead or participate in safety and technical team meetings to support continuous improvement in maintenance and safety practices.
Support ongoing 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives across the site.
Maintain accurate records and reports through the site system.
Key Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and team‑management skills with a proven track record of supervising maintenance teams.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation including electrical and mechanical schematics.
Experience leading a supervised team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Awareness of Lean Manufacturing tools (e.g., 5S) is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
Mechanical and Electrical trade qualification preferred, or equivalent experience.
Safe Pass (essential).
Additional certifications advantageous.
Manual Handling, Forklift Licence, Lockout/Tagout Training.
First Aid or Fire Warden Training (desirable).
Supervisor/Team Lead experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance role.
Experience in Food, Pharma, or Commercial Laundry industries is an advantage.
