Job Title: Experienced Occupational Therapist - Mental Health and Dementia Care
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate occupational therapist to join our inpatient team, dedicated to supporting older adults with complex mental health needs, including dementia-related conditions and long-term psychiatric difficulties.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified occupational therapist with a passion for working with older adults. You will play a key role in enhancing quality of life and independence for our clients through specialist OT assessment and intervention.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Delivering comprehensive OT assessments focusing on function, cognition, and daily living skills.
* Designing and implementing compensatory strategies to support autonomy and engagement in meaningful activities.
* Providing specialist seating and positioning assessments for clients with complex physical and cognitive needs.
* Facilitating both individual and group programmes within the inpatient setting.
* Leading on discharge planning in close collaboration with the Community Later Life Psychiatry OT team.
* Contributing to service development, clinical audit, and best practice initiatives.
What We Are Looking For:
* A BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy CORU Registration (essential).
* A strong clinical interest in older adult mental health and dementia care.
* Confidence in delivering rehabilitation and compensatory interventions.
* Skills or a keen interest in specialist seating and positioning.
* Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
* A collaborative, recovery-oriented, and person-centred approach to care.
