Nory
Payroll manager
€80,000 - €100,000 a year

Offer description

Let’s fix hospitality, for good.

We’re on a mission to help the hospitality industry double their profitability, reduce their carbon footprint, and create better working environments for their teams.

Our CEO, Conor, founded and scaled Mad Egg, one of the fastest-growing restaurant groups in Ireland. Having experienced firsthand the frustration of juggling “market-leading” restaurant management systems, spreadsheets, and paper printouts, he set out to build the solution he wished he had from day one: Nory.
Now, we’re scaling fast. We have a real product solving real problems, and we can barely keep up with demand. With ambitious goals for 2025 and a recent Series A led by Accel, we’ve grown to a team of 50+ across Ireland, the UK, and Spain.

Now, we’re looking for a Payroll Manager to join our growing Operations team and take payroll to the next level. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal teams, customers, and technology partners to enhance payroll workflows, drive automation, and deliver exceptional payroll experiences in a fast-scaling, mission-driven company.

This role requires a deep understanding of UKI payroll regulations, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive operational improvements in a tech-driven environment.

Please note - this role can be 100% remote within the UK / Ireland, or you can work hybrid from our Holborn, London or IFSC, Dublin office.

Areas you’ll own

* Registration and Ongoing Management of Revenue Agency records

o Handling comms involving government agencies, regulatory bodies and likely third party advisors where necessary

o Research and management of requirements to enter into new markets for payroll.

* Ownership of the overall onboarding pipeline for NoryPay from pre-sale through implementation, and then ongoing support thereafter

o Work with Sales Team pre-sales, to demonstrate payroll capabilities and where necessary, demo Payroll solution to prospects

o Work with CS and Onboarding teams to prepare accounts for onboarding - owning the overall onboarding pipeline and customer payroll calendar

o Partner with external payroll partner to schedule and onboard customers to integrated payroll platform - QTAC

o QA and resolution management of draft and initial payroll runs for customers that are onboarding to NoryPay

* Compliance & Risk Management

o Ensure payroll processes comply with relevant laws, HMRC regulations, and tax requirements (e.g. PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, holiday pay etc).

o Stay updated on legislative changes affecting payroll and implement necessary updates, and advocate internally for these changes

o Handle audits and internal/external reporting related to payroll.

o Together with external Payroll Bureau, own the management of the pension Re-enrollment process for subscribed customers

* Process & Change Management

o Drive process optimisation initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in payroll service delivery.

o Monitor and report on payroll performance, leveraging KPIs and customer feedback.

o Standardise payroll processes across different client accounts for scalability and efficiency.

* Collaborate with internal teams (Product, Engineering and HR) to align payroll operations with customer needs.

o Work with R&D teams to enhance payroll system capabilities as we move this functionality inhouse in the coming year.

o Be the internal Payroll Expert: owning all internal queries, and ensuring accurate documentation is available for all teams.

What you’ll bring

* Have excellent knowledge of UK and Ireland Payroll legislation

* Be familiar with payroll software, HMRC submissions, BACS, Auto Enrolment, P11Ds, and Payroll Journals

* Experience with payroll platforms such as Brightpay is a plus

* Be an intermediate Microsoft Office user, with advanced Excel skills

* Have an understanding of GDPR compliance and ISO quality standards (desirable)

* Have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commercial mindset

* Clear, confident communication - you can work across teams and functions to get things done, and you’re not afraid to challenge or be challenged

* A sense of ownership - when you see something that could be better, you fix it. You act like a founder, not just an employee

* A self-starter mentality - high integrity, positive energy, and an internal engine that doesn’t wait for permission

What you’ll get in return

Equity at our Series A valuation

35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays)

Comprehensive private health insurance

Enhanced parental leave and baby loss support

Learning & development culture – €1000 personal annual budget + quarterly book budget

️ €250 home office workspace budget

Regular team offsites & socials

And much more
