Permanent, 30 hours per week


About the Role:

Reporting to the Community Service Manager through the Programmes Supervisor, the post holder will facilitate service users in their choices, developing programmes within a person-centred model of service delivery. The programmes may include independent living, personal development, and occupational and leisure activities, aligned with the quality-of-life model and the HSE New Directions Interim Standards. The role is based at the Resource Centre in Casla, Co. Galway.


What We’re Looking For:

* Minimum QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent (desirable)
* Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues
* Fluency in Irish (highly desirable)
* Understanding of Irish Sign Language (highly desirable)
* Programme facilitation skills and client handling experience (advantageous)
* Experience in facilitating person-centred plans, designing and implementing programmes to meet service users’ needs, including independent living and community integration support
* Knowledge of New Directions and community-based programmes
* Experience in personal assistance, personal care, and manual handling
* Understanding of lone working and community support in line with New Directions
* Interest in services, activities, and programmes
* Focus on health, safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping standards
* Promotion of self-advocacy with service users
* Flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs

Your Responsibilities:

* Act as a key worker, facilitating Person-Centred Planning, identifying goals, and maintaining records
* Develop and deliver person-centred programmes based on individual plans
* Support individuals and groups in accessing community activities, facilitating participation and meeting needs
* Work independently as a lone worker, liaising with team members, external agencies, and families, maintaining relevant records
* Adhere to all service rules, policies, and procedures
* Promote independence and community integration, liaising with community personnel to facilitate accessible activities
* Maintain health, safety, hygiene, and safety standards, ensuring safe transportation and interaction with dignity and respect


Additional Requirements:

* Full manual driving licence
* Experience working with people with disabilities and mental health issues
* Ability to work independently when appropriate
* Willingness to travel
* Candidates may need to provide a police clearance for countries lived in prior to Ireland

Salary: Starting from €30,915.76 to €32,518.28 (pro rata), negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
