Environment Advisor - Construction Industry - Cork
One of Europe’s leading building contractors has an exceptional opportunity as an Environmental Advisor based onsite a construction project in Cork. A lead role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the construction project complies with environmental regulations and company standards.
Role Duties:
* Assisting in maintenance of the Environmental Management System and to ensure continued compliance with ISO14001.
* Apply for the relevant consents and licenses regarding environmental issues.
* Develop and maintain Project Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans etc. and ensure that relevant controls / requirements are included in all project documentation.
* Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits for construction projects.
* Monitor and report on environmental performance and initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies (EPA, Inland Fisheries etc), and other project stakeholders on environmental matters.
* Provide training and support to staff on environmental issues (Spill response etc.).
* Promote sustainable construction practices and technologies within the company.
* Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation as required.
* Collaborate with other departments to integrate sustainability into all aspects of project planning and execution.
* Carrying out Environmental Inspections through the Contract and ensuring that all actions raised are closed out in a timely manner.
* Investigating, logging and monitoring of Environmental Incidents and Non- conformances.
* Providing advice to project Teams and responding to queries or correspondence on environmental issues.
Qualifications & Skills
* Relevant 3rd level qualification in environment
* Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams,
* Good written and spoken communication abilities.
* Good IT skills with a high attention to detail
* A flexible and proactive approach
* Demonstrate leadership skills.
