Barden are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative start-up to help identify an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis (5 mornings per week).
This is a great opportunity for a finance professional looking to find a role with flexibility without taking a step back in their accounting career. This person will add value across the finance function and work closely with the Finance Manager.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
* Assist with monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting, budget preparation, and ad hoc financial analysis.
* Manage the Accounts Payable function.
* Support annual audits, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., VAT, Intrastat, statistical surveys), and uphold internal financial controls.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations, manage intercompany balances, and oversee financial aspects of stock and goods in transit.
* Assist with payment runs, vendor onboarding, staff purchase orders, and general administrative tasks.
* Engage in process improvement initiatives, contribute to Group projects.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks.
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational capabilities.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
* Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.
* Understanding of VAT principles is desirable.
