About the Role:
To manage and coordinate the design, construction, commissioning, and handover activities associated with the on-site Mechanical, Electrical, and Process upgrade works at the Wastewater Treatment facility in the North East.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience and suitable qualifications within Mechanical Engineering and/or Environmental Engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Management, supervision, and coordination of a team of engineers, safety personnel, and M&E installation personnel.
* Representing the project's interests at client meetings and participating in project coordination meetings, with proper documentation.
* Managing on-site PSDP & PSCS duties and responsibilities.
* Developing a culture of innovation and initiative regarding HSQE matters, emphasizing communication, coordination, cooperation, and collaboration.
* Managing site documentation, including signage, audits, method statements, reports, and subcontractor documentation.
* Construction planning, scheduling, procurement, and expediting of materials and equipment.
* Project cost review and reporting.
* Researching and suggesting construction methods, means, and equipment options.
* Managing project closeout, including handing over the safety file.
* Preparing progress and technical reports for clients and internal use.
* Planning timelines from contract award to completion, including commissioning and validation of systems.
* Managing performance against contractual KPIs.
* Facilitating effective communication and documentation with project team members.
* Coordinating handover documentation, testing, commissioning, and process proving.
* Managing environmental and ecological requirements.
* Updating work programs weekly and monthly as required.
Key Competencies and Skills:
* Proficiency in MS Office and project management software is advantageous.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Willingness to learn and be challenged in the water and wastewater industry.
* Interest in implementing opportunities and initiatives within tight schedules.
* Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
* Third-level Mechanical or Environmental Engineering degree.
* Relevant qualifications and experience considered.
* Full EU/Irish driving license.
