Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Leader to oversee our engineering team and drive technical excellence. As a Director of Engineering, you will lead efforts to identify and reduce technical debt, foster collaboration with other organizations, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Strategy: Provide direction and leadership to the engineering team.
* Identify and prioritize technical debt reduction initiatives.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Technical Debt Management:
* Assess and identify areas of technical debt within projects.
* Develop and implement strategies to reduce debt and improve code quality.
* Monitor progress and resolve issues timely.
Collaboration and Outreach:
* Establish relationships with other organizations and facilitate knowledge sharing.
* Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
Documentation and Best Practices:
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
* Promote adoption across the engineering team.
Team Development:
* Mentor leaders and team members, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
* Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Project Management:
* Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring delivery on time and with high quality.
* Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience as Director of Engineering or similar role. Strong understanding of technical debt management and reduction strategies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with agile development practices and Java, AWS, DevOps is a plus.
