Respite Service Manager – Disability, St. Catherine's Association SCA01
Location: Newcastle, Wicklow, Ireland. Contract: Permanent Full-Time. Salary: As per HSE Social Care Manager pay scale. Closing date: 19/09/2025 17:00:00.
Responsibilities
* Act as a designated Person in Charge in line with the requirements of regulation 14 of the Health Act 2007 regulations 2013.
* Support the Head of Operations in delivering quality, person-centred and HIQA regulatory compliant care.
* Manage a Respite service supporting children and young adults.
* Provide clear direction and overall day-to-day management of the designated centre, resolving operational issues as they arise.
* Monitor and review the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of services provided.
* Provide emergency management support in an on-call capacity as required.
* Promote the ethos and culture of quality assurance within the location in line with regulations.
* Manage budget allocation (approximately €1.9M) to meet the needs of the individuals we support and offer best value.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with families and other agencies involved in service provision.
* Report to: Head of Operations.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
* QQI Level 7 BA in Applied Social Studies, Social Care or equivalent, or RNID, RGN or RCN qualification with NMBI registration.
* A management qualification in Health/Social Care or be in the process of obtaining it.
* CORU registered or currently in the process of obtaining registration.
* A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory or management experience.
* Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills.
* Ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on current legislation, best practice and individual circumstances.
* Ability to assess situations and apply analytical and problem-solving approaches to meet service needs.
* Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards and relevant legislation.
* Experience in strategic and local change management.
* Competent IT and presentation skills.
* Hold a full clean driving license and have access to a car.
