As a medical consultant, you will provide high-quality patient care in a leading university teaching health service. This role involves clinical leadership, supervision of junior staff, service development, and contribution to quality improvement initiatives.
Clinical Duties
* You will diagnose and manage complex medical conditions across a broad spectrum, including diabetes, respiratory illnesses, infections, and gastrointestinal conditions.
* You will lead care on general medical wards, including daily rounds and case discussions.
* You will assess and treat patients presenting with undifferentiated or multiple co-morbidities, particularly in emergency or acute medical settings.
* You will support continuity of care from admission through discharge, coordinating with community services as needed.
* You will run outpatient clinics for chronic disease management and follow-up care.
Supervision and Education
* You will supervise and mentor non-consultant hospital doctors, including interns, SHOs, and registrars.
* You will teach medical students, deliver formal education sessions, and promote a learning culture.
* You will provide clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, allied health, and pharmacy staff.
