Job Description
We are hiring an Aquatic Ecologist to join our growing Ecology team to meet increasing demand. The successful candidate will work on various projects across sectors like wind energy, drainage, and infrastructure. Our Ecology Team is one of Ireland’s largest, working nationwide.
The Successful Candidate Would Be Expected To:
* Have freshwater ecological experience, including electrofishing, kick sampling, fisheries habitat appraisal, and river habitat assessment.
* Work as part of the Ecology team to deliver project requirements.
* Manage medium to large-scale projects from inception to completion.
* Have excellent ecological field skills and any specialist ecological expertise.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of environmental issues relevant to ecological impact assessments.
* Have 2-5 years of post-graduate ecological experience, preferably in a consultancy.
The Key Responsibilities Include:
* Conduct aquatic ecological fieldwork, including electrofishing, kick sampling, and protected species surveys.
* Prepare and manage ecological assessments, including EIAs and biodiversity reports.
* Undertake desk studies, fieldwork, and impact assessment reporting.
* Develop scope of work and fee proposals for new projects.
* Manage interactions with clients, team members, and sub-consultants.
* Engage with authorities and stakeholders.
* Deliver project outputs within deadlines.
