Own purchasing, inventory planning, inbound logistics, and warehouse stock control across Ireland and the US. The role ensures core items remain in stock year-round, purchase plans are built 12 months ahead, supplier performance is managed, and operational risks are identified and escalated early with clear options.
Key responsibilities
1) Inventory planning & stock availability (12-month horizon)
* Build and maintain 12-month purchase and inventory plans for floor line items using historical sales and seasonality.
* Set and maintain safety stock levels; monitor reorder points and stock risk weekly.
* Translate sales and channel inputs into inventory decisions for new items, including initial buys and replenishment logic.
* Produce regular visibility reporting: stock status, forward cover, inbound ETAs, and risks.
* Drive stock optimisation proposals (SKU rationalisation, slow-moving stock actions, and improved buying cadence).
2) Purchasing & supplier management (international)
* Manage day-to-day supplier relationships: pricing, lead times, MOQs, and delivery schedules..
* Track supplier performance (on-time/in-full delivery, lead time adherence, quality issues) and run corrective actions where needed.
3) Inbound logistics & import execution
* Own inbound shipments end-to-end: booking freight, coordinating forwarders, documentation, customs/import requirements, and ETA management.
* Lead freight cost optimisation and service decisions.
* Control KPIs on final mile delivery, carrier selections and associated costs
* Set standards on packaging requirements for B2C, optimize and order from selected provider
What success looks like (outcomes)
* Floor line items remain in stock; stockouts are actively prevented.
* 12-month inventory plan produced and maintained, with clear buy schedule and budget visibility.
* Delays are flagged early; impacts and mitigation options are communicated clearly.
* Supplier performance is measured and improves over time (lead times, OTIF, issue closure).
* Stock counts are planned realistically and completed with improved inventory accuracy.
* Tangible inventory optimisation proposals (SKU reductions, buy-cadence improvements).
Essential
* 5+ years' experience in purchasing + inventory planning/stock control (ideally in a multi-channel environment).
* Demonstrable experience building forecasts and replenishment plans from historical sales/seasonality.
* Strong supplier management capability (international suppliers; lead times, MOQs, delivery performance).
* Hands-on experience using an ERP/inventory system daily (Brightpearl strongly preferred).
* Strong written communication, with evidence of disciplined follow-through and early escalation.
Desirable criteria
* Apparel and/or seasonal product experience.
* Wholesale-led business exposure.
* Experience managing inventory across multiple warehouses.
* Familiarity with Brightpearl Inventory Planner workflows.
