Our finance team is currently undergoing significant transformation, moving from siloed operations to a more centralised and streamlined operating model, enhancing efficiency and consistency across the authority. Where previously we monitored from a distance the financial operations of our service providers, we are changing strategy to be more involved at the granular level of our payment operations. The consolidation into a single ERP and the integration of an advanced automated reconciliation tool will greatly improve financial controls and transparency.
Role:
The Finance Manager / Business Analyst – Ticketing Technology will play a key role within the TT Finance Team, supporting daily operations, contributing to the delivery of financial reporting, and supporting the review and development of finance-related policies, processes and tools. With the Transport Technology Finance Team embarking on new schemes and projects, this role offers an exciting opportunity to help streamline processes, drive improvements, and strengthen analytics and reporting.
The individual will support the transition from manual to systemised processes and help shape a collaborative, data-driven and solutions-oriented culture within the team.
The role will also deputise for the Finance Manager – Ticketing Operations as required, and shall undertake tasks including but not limited to the following:
1. Policies, Procedures and Process Improvement:
* Assist in reviewing and updating Transport Technology finance Policy & Procedure Documents, using new standard templates to reflect the new Business Central ERP Finance System and scheme changes in Leap and mTicketing (TFIGo).
* Lead or support documentation of key controls and core business processes.
* Provide input into finance system upgrades and development from both a finance and analysis perspective.
* Support process improvement initiatives and development of control frameworks.
* Contribute to the enhancement of internal finance portals and business partnering dashboards.
* Support the implementation and enhancement of business analysis and reporting tools.
2. Ticketing Operations:
* Support operational analysis and process documentation.
* Contribute to reviews of key finance controls and operational KPIs.
* Investigate and resolve transactional and system issues with stakeholders.
* Manage or support daily banking and payment operations in mTicketing, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
* Prepare and execute banking transactions to Scheme Participants (Transport Operators).
* Assist in daily working capital management and cash flow forecasting.
* Participate in projects aimed at leveraging technology to improve operations and reporting.
3. Month-End Reconciliations:
* Complete or review reconciliations and support variance investigation.
* Prepare or assist with balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
* Support the transition to systemised reconciliation tools and automation.
* Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align reconciliation processes.
* Contribute to management reporting and provide insight for decision-making.
4. Additional Responsibilities:
* Prepare and present monthly KPI reports to stakeholders.
* Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities.
* Support internal and external audit preparation.
* Strengthen business partnering and collaboration across the Transport Technology Department.
5. Other Responsibilities:
* Carry out ad-hoc duties and project tasks as needed.

Key Competencies:
We’re looking for a finance or business professional with a strong mix of technical knowledge, analytical skills, and process orientation, ideally with experience in transformation and systems.
* Experience in financial management and/or business analysis in a controlled environment.
* Good analytical and reporting ability, including a logical approach to problem solving.
* Experience working with managed service providers.
* Experience developing and documenting processes or controls.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Comfortable with working across systems, understanding data flows, and improving processes.
* Strong MS Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused attitude.
Requirements for the Role:
* Recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or demonstrable experience in financial/business analysis roles.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
