Finance Manager - AHB


We have been assigned to support an AHB in their search for a new Finance Manager who will oversee day-to-day financial operations within the organisation. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will collaborate with housing and development personnel to deliver efficient financial services through effective accounting systems.


Key Responsibilities



1. Financial Management and Operations

* Produce monthly management accounts and reports.
* Support the Finance and Audit & Risk Committees with timely meeting packs.
* Provide management information and analysis for Senior management and Board decision-making.
* Implement Treasury Management Policy and maintain loan covenants compliance.
* Prepare long-term financial plans, ensuring regular bank account reconciliations.
* Manage rent accounting systems and ensure timely tenant statements.
* Identify fundraising opportunities and lead applications.
* Submit necessary VAT and tax returns.
* Set and monitor financial KPIs.


2. Budget Setting and Oversight

* Lead annual budget preparation with the senior management team.
* Monitor financial progress and provide timely variance reports.
* Prepare multi-year budgets and cash flow projections for development programs.


3. Finance Systems

* Ensure effective internal financial controls and reporting systems.
* Maintain and reconcile computerized financial systems.


4. Financial Governance and Compliance

* Ensure compliance with charity sector laws and financial standards.
* Implement and review all financial policies and controls.
* Prepare annual financial returns for assessments and monitoring.
* Liaise with key stakeholders and funders.
* Support the preparation of annual reports and statutory accounts.
* Manage insurance cover and claims.
* Assist in maintaining Risk, Legal, and Fraud Registers.


5. Payroll

* Administer payroll and ensure timely payments to employees.


6. Development

* Prepare financial appraisals for capital development programs.
* Lead funding submissions and liaise with relevant bodies for timely documentation.
* Review ongoing cashflow projections for developments.


7. Training

* Engage in regular training, seminars, and professional development in collaboration with the CEO.


8. IT

* Lead ICT management and maintain records with IT support services.


General Responsibilities

* Participate in Senior Management Team activities and deputize for the CEO as needed.
* Produce reporting on KPIs and budget performance.
* Lead and develop team members to ensure continuous improvement.
* Contribute to business and strategic planning processes.
* Ensure accurate documentation on Cabhrú's IT platform.
* Maintain stakeholder relationships with all relevant parties.
* Foster innovation for the benefit of tenants and the organization.
* Engage in ongoing personal development and training initiatives.
